I am pleased to join the Windsor Academy community, because throughout my varied career, i have always loved working with children.
I have a B.A. in English and Theater from S.U.N.Y. Potsdam, a J.D. from New York Law School, and a certificate in film-making from NYU. For ten years, I was a Red-Cross Certified swimming teacher and coach for both competitive and synchronized swimming teams. I taught all ages from 3 years old to adults. In addition, I worked with special-needs children in swimming competitions that were the precursor of similar events in the Special Olympics.
I have taught children's theater classes, working with children in Grades K-5, While raising my children in Cornwall, NY, I was able to enrich our community through the PTA, children's theater productions, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and school library duties, as well as being a substitute teacher for 8 years.
As an attorney, I worked for Nassau-Suffolk Law Services on Long Island, assisting people in obtaining public assistance, emergency housing, and social security benefits. I then worked for NYC in the Housing Litigation Department of the DHPD. We sued landlords who failed to maintain their buildings properly, and/or who failed to provide heat and hot water to their tenants.
In recent years, I have been involved with the local community theater scene. With the Stormy Weather Players, I directed several plays, and last year I was the Stage Manager for the Muddy Water Creative Players production of "Bathroom Humor". I also am a writer, having worked for It's a Wonderful Town, and ASPIRE Magazine.
I am the proud parent of 2 wonderful adult children, Ellie and Gregory.
