Infants and Toddlers

Jennifer Olivera

I am really happy to have become a part of the Windsor Academy Family this year. I attended film school after graduating high school where I studied acting for Film and Television and received my Meisner Certification for acting technique. Later, after landing a small role in a film, I was able to join the Screen Actors Guild. Acting was my dream until I realized a few years back that it cannot be a total reality especially if I want a home and a family one day. But one day I wish to pursue it again. After film school, I worked with animals as a pet care specialist and jack of all trades at PetSmart for 7 years. I have also worked with children as a babysitter for close family and friends on occasion. I have also assisted teaching children, helping them get active in a Zumbatomic program at “Jusz Danze & Fitness” in New Windsor where I currently teach Zumba Fitness for adults. Prior to joining Windsor Academy, I attempted an office job at an IT company as an HR Assistant where I realized sitting for nine hours a day at a desk, was NOT for me and I wanted to be part if something more meaningful.

Although working in a school such as Windsor Academy is a new experience for me, I have always loved children and I am a nurturing person at heart. I love taking care of and helping other people grow. I feel I have finally found my niche and it feels great to finally say I love my job! I look forward to pursuing my career in this field with the children and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this school. The best thing in the world is walking into a room of little children who don't know how to carry on a full conversation yet, because they are so young, but their expressions say it all, with huge smiles on their faces and yelling your name "Nennie". Every time you witness something new from them, a word, a song, a movement, a gesture, it’s the most rewarding experience and job. In my spare time, you'll find me taking care of my pet rat Zoey, spending time with family and friends, and most times going straight from work to workout at “Jusz Danze.” I enjoy watching movies, listening to all kinds of music and continuing my studies as a fitness instructor. Also, I enjoy camping, hiking, traveling, the beach and anything Disney related.
